The following are fees associated with renewing a license to practise pharmacy, set by Canadian licensing bodies. All fees are subject to GST except for those in Ontario, Yukon and Northwest Territories.
ALBERTA
For annual licence renewal (July 1 to June 30):
as a practising pharmacist - $735 (+ GST)
(effective July 1, 2011 - $744 + GST)
as a non-practising associate pharmacist $213.00 (+ GST)
(effective July 1, 2011 - $216 + GST)
Other fees:
Reinstatement fee $245.00 (+ GST)
(effective July 1, 2011 - $248 + GST)
BRITISH COLUMBIA
For annual registration renewal (registration is renewed for a one-year term from the registration/anniversary date):
Full Pharmacist (applies to the first five one-year terms) - $682.50 + HST
Full Pharmacist (applies after the first five one-year terms) - $630 + HST
Non-Practising Pharmacist (for a term of one-year) - $504 + HST
Student Pharmacist (UBC) (valid for up to four years. Expires in year of graduation) - $177.50 + HST
Student Pharmacist (Non-UBC) (valid for one year) - $177.50 + HST
Other fees:
Application for Pre-registration (valid for up to three years) - $335 + HST
Application for Re-instatement (for re-instatement after 90 days of registration expiry; valid for up to three years) - $282.50 + HST
Application for Re-instatement (late renewal) - $131.25 + HST
MANITOBA
For annual licence renewal (January 1 - December 31):
as a practising pharmacist - $771.58 + GST **
as a non-practising pharmacist - $107.07 + GST
**Licensure fees are reduced by 40% on July 1
NEW BRUNSWICK
For annual licence renewal (January 1 - December 31):
active pharmacist $880 (+ HST = $994.40)
inactive pharmacist $175 (+ HST = $197.75)
NEWFOUNDLAND AND LABRADOR
For Annual Registration (January 1 - December 31):
as a registered pharmacist - $550 + HST
- Fee for a registered pharmacist only is prorated if registering after June 30 by 50% ($275 plus HST)
as a non-practicing pharmacist - $125 + HST
